Lake pipeline Merlischachen - Küssnacht

For the replacement of the transport water pipe, our specialists developed a laying concept including the optimum route for the desired new drinking water pipe.

The execution of this demanding challenge, including the installation, was carried out in a joint venture with the two companies Josef Muff AG and Schenk AG.

As the responsible hydraulic engineering company, Willy Stäubli Ing. AG bears overall responsibility for this project. Schenk AG carried out the horizontal drilling and flush drilling for the shore connections of the lake pipeline in Merlischachen and in Küssnacht am Rigi, and Josef Muff AG carried out the welding work on the steel pipe strings, on land and on water. The required non-destructive testing (NDT) of the weld seams in accordance with SN EN ISO 9712 was carried out professionally by the subcontractor Röntgen Test AG.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the pleasant and professional cooperation.

Technical specifications:

  • High operating pressure of the drinking water pipe of over 30 bar
  • Lowest point of the lake pipeline approx. 45m below the water level
