Hotel Storchen conversion - static underpinning

The four-star Hotel Storchen, right in the heart of Zurich on the banks of the Limmat, has a centuries-old tradition. Our team of experts was once again actively involved in the renewed renovation in December 2020 with static underpinning in columns and beams - real quality work in steel.

The interior of the west side of the hotel on Storchengasse was gutted and we built a temporary system for this, on which the façade scaffolding, the work platform and the construction lift could be mounted. In addition, a steel construction platform and an electrically operated ramp were designed by Willy Stäubli Ing. AG, which was used to properly remove the rubble from the hotel conversion.

Before the start of the conversion, the entire concept was realized in a 3D program and statically checked by our civil engineer in accordance with the applicable SIA standards.

The temporary supports and beams were successfully dismantled again in February 2021.

We are very proud of the fact that we have repeatedly been able to demonstrate our expertise from planning to dismantling during the renovation of the venerable Hotel Storchen.
