A regular and thorough buoy inspection is a responsible task and should be carried out by our diving experts. Every year our divers carry out thorough inspections on more than 300 buoys.
Buoy maintenance comprises the following steps:
- Removal of algae, mussels and organisms: We thoroughly clean the buoy gear so that it can be carefully inspected.
- Inspection for damage and wear: We inspect each buoy for possible damage, signs of wear and general functionality.
- Ensuring anchoring and fastening: Proper anchoring and fastening of the buoys are essential to ensure their position in the water.
- Checking the wear on retaining chains and connecting shackles: We check the retaining chains and connecting shackles for signs of wear, as these are critical components for the buoys.
- Repair and replacement of defective components: If we discover defective components, we carry out repairs or replace them after consultation with the client to ensure the safety and functionality of the buoys.
- Reporting of the situation on site: We document the results of our on-site inspections to ensure transparency and traceability.
The frequency of maintenance can vary from 1 to 3 years depending on the type of buoy and the specific requirements of the water.
