The Felsenegg port facility in Gersau (SZ) suffered massive damage due to the hurricane-like storm "Burglind" in 2018. As specialist engineers, we are now called upon to replace the harbour.
Based on the subsequent investigations, it had to be determined that only a new replacement port would make sense. After an intensive planning period, we were able to start work on site in October 2020.
Prior to this, all ships were removed from the port, thus laying the foundation for the demolition of the old pier and the floating jetties, as well as for the piling of the new mooring struts. At the same time, the construction of the new concrete pier elements is in full swing. These were manufactured by the company Christen AG in Küssnacht (SZ). In January 2021, the pier elements were lowered into the water and transported by sea from Küssnacht to Gersau, coupled and anchored. This was followed by the interior construction of the port facility using floating jetties and a jetty.
The new building was fully completed on April 9, 2021 and officially inaugurated and handed over to the client on April 11, 2021. The first boats were thus able to occupy their new berth on April 12, 2021.
Special thanks to the Zumbühl family, who own the Felsenegg AG boat harbor, Landolt Engineering AG, the construction company Christen AG and the other companies involved in the project.
